Newell Beach Caravan Park and Holiday Units is located only one hour's drive north of Cairns and sits like a jewel in the heart of Douglas Shire and the Daintree. A quick walk across the road from the Caravan Park will have you on the beach at Newell. Newell Beach looks out onto the Coral Sea and the laid back style of the tourist holiday village of Port Douglas and Island Point. You can also see Low Isles and its lighthouse, which shines like a gem in the sea. Off to the north you can see Snapper Island, a fisherman's playground just off Cape Kimberly and the mouth of the mighty Daintree River. Newell Beach is only 15 minutes away from such famous places as Port Douglas, the crystal clear rock pools of Mossman Gorge National Park, the Daintree Village and Rainforest, and the mighty Daintree River, home to the estuarine crocodile and giant barramundi. Avid bird watchers will find plenty of avians inhabiting the nearby Mossman River region and surrounding areas.

FISHING:

Newell Beach Caravan Park is ideal for the recreational fisherman. We are situated between two major rivers, the Mossman River to the south and the Saltwater River to the north. Both areas provide boat ramps if needed or head down to the beach and fish from the shore. Roger & Lynn's General Store next door to the park stocks plenty of bait and for the days when the fish aren't biting then why not try their Take-Away Meals.

ATTRACTIONS:

All roads from Newell Beach lead to great destinations. You can head north to see the Daintree, Cape Tribulation, Bloomfield, Cooktown, & Cape York. Head west and you'll reach Mareeba, Atherton Tablelands, Chillago, Undara lava tubes, Normanton & Karumba. Go down south to see Kuranda, Cairns, Innisfail, Mission Beach, Dunk Island, Cardwell, Hinchinbrook Island, and Townsville or you can book onto one of the many boat tours to take you out east where you can see the amazing wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. Newell Beach is only 8km north of the township of Mossman which has a large supermarket, chemists, medical clinics, hospital, various shops, the Bowls Club, and Sugar Mill. Just outside of Newell Beach is the Mossman Golf Course.
